Baluster form on circular foot, the angular handle with ram’s head, the body decorated in repousse to show fanciful Italianate buildings and bridges in lush gardens with weeping willows, exotic plants and bird, the foot and other areas decorated in floral repousse.

First introduced around 1840, the ‘Estruscan’ pattern as it was called by Kirk, is also known as the ‘Landscape’ or ‘Castle’ pattern.  Ewers in this pattern were one of Kirk’s most attractive and successful designs, and epitomise the Maryland repousse style with which his firm is synonymous.

Condition: Very good, some areas of minor tarnish.
