A pair of Dutch Delft tobacco jars, painted in underglaze blue to show a Native American smoking a pipe and seated upon a pedestal, beside a vessel inscribed RAPPE or VARINAS, each with ships in the background, and the monogram VOC for the Dutch East India company, underglaze marks to the underside. Both drilled, heavy wear to rims, a few spider cracks to glaze, original brass lids lacking finials.
